Bob Collins worked at Fanshawe College for 38 years, first as a professor and then Program Co-Ordinator of the broadcast journalism and radio programs.

Impact

The Bob Collins Broadcast Journalist of the Year Award was established to recognize a level 4 (semester 4) Fanshawe Journalism Broadcast student who demonstrates skills in the classroom, commitment and excellence and must express a strong interest in pursuing a career in Journalism Broadcast.

The Bob Collins Most Promising On-Air Personality of the Year Awards were established to recognize two level 2 Fanshawe Radio Broadcasting student who demonstrates leadership skills in the classroom and professional promise in on-air presentations.

The Bob Collins TV News – Investigative Reporting Award is presented to a student enrolled in semester 2 of Fanshawe’s Broadcast Journalism – Television News program with a minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 who demonstrates a strong interest in pursuing a career in TV news and demonstrates leadership skills.
