The Bob Collins Most Promising Journalist Award

Three awards are presented annually. Recipients must, at the time of selection:

  • be full-time students at Fanshawe College enrolled in level 2 of the Journalism – Multimedia program
  • have achieved a cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 3.0
  • demonstrates enthusiasm for the Broadcasting industry and the ability to overcome challenging journalistic experiences.
  • Submits a resume and at least 3 pieces of work that best reflect versatility and skills as a journalist.
  • Submits a 500-word essay that speaks to the program highlights and the most challenging journalistic experiences in their first year, and how they plan to use that knowledge in second year to develop the skills to become a successful broadcast journalist*.

Candidates for this award are required to submit an application or assignment. Please contact your program coordinator for more information.

3 awards are available and award values will be applied to the recipients’ Fall term fees as follows:
1st place – $1,500
2nd place – $750
3rd place – $750
