Ruth Gates Award

A minimum of one award is presented annually. Recipient must, at the time of application:

• be enrolled full time in Level 2 of any diploma, advanced diploma or degree program within the Donald J. Smith School of Building Technology or the School of Applied Science and Technology
• have achieved the highest cumulative GPA (must be a minimum of 3.0)
• self-identify as a woman and/or gender diverse person (in alignment with the Fanshawe College EDI and anti-oppression framework)

An additional award of $500.00 is available for the successful recipient for continuation of her/their studies into the second year of the program should she/they meet the initial award criteria and maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. This payment will be released in the Fall term for any eligible year.

You must complete the diversity questionnaire on the General Application to be considered. Recipients will be notified by email if selected to receive this award.
