Impact
The Bell Media – Network Professional Motivation and Team Leadership Award is presented to a student currently enrolled in year 1 of Fanshawe’s Broadcasting – Television and Film Production program and returning to 3rd semester (year 2) in Broadcasting – Television and Film Production or year 3 of Contemporary Media: Theory and Production. This student demonstrates outstanding professional motivation and team leadership, is truly motivated by the profession and looks to constantly improve and hone their abilities. This student regularly takes charge in both their professional development and team building role. Applicants must submit a typed application and essay outlining their accomplishments, goals and leadership activities, and must be ready and willing to accept an internship (up to 8 weeks unpaid) with Bell Media-Network in Agincourt, Ontario.
The Bell Media Best Newswriter of the Year Award is presented to a full-time student currently enrolled in Year 2 of Fanshawe’s Journalism – Broadcast, and has maintained a minimum 2.0 GPA (cumulative). This student demonstrates the best newswriting abilities throughout the duration of the program, and must submit two original news stories with covering letter (including background information detailing how the story originated, the research, questions and follow-up to the story).
The Bell Media Most Promising Radio Broadcaster of the Year Award is awarded to a Fanshawe student currently enrolled in Year 1 of Fanshawe’s Broadcasting – Radio program, has maintained a minimum 2.0 GPA (cumulative), and has demonstrated academic performance as well as being selected by peers and faculty as “most likely to succeed in Radio Broadcasting.”
The Bell Media Potential in Television Technical Operations Award is presented to a full-time student currently enrolled in First Year of Fanshawe’s Broadcasting – Television and Film Production program, or Third Year of the Media, Theory and Production Collaborative Degree program. This student must have maintained a 3.0 GPA (cumulative), and demonstrates the most promise in overall technical operations (including outstanding achievement in studio work, camera, EFP, audio, and lighting).
The Radio Producer of the Year Award (Bell Media) is presented to a full-time student currently enrolled in Year 2 of Fanshawe’s Broadcasting – Radio program, has maintained a minimum 2.0 GPA (cumulative, and demonstrates the best, through his or her production pieces, that a number of different production facets have been explored and mastered.
