Bruce County Early Childhood Education Award
The number of awards available each year will vary. Recipients must, at the time of selection:
- be a full-time student in the Early Childhood Education diploma program and/or completing Early Childhood Education courses through part-time studies, and/or completing a Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) for the Early Childhood Education program at Fanshawe College
- have achieved a cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 2.0
- self-identify as having a Bruce County home address OR is currently working in Bruce County’s Child Care and Early Years Program
An award of up to $1,500 per term will be presented every academic term, for the completion of the program and/or course, to a maximum of $6,000 per student. The disbursements will begin in the 2026/27 academic year (September-August) and end upon the students’ completion of the program or course of study. Funds are subject to availability.
Disbursement amounts will be as follows:
- $250/term for part-time students taking 1-2 classes
- $500/term for part-time students taking 3 or more classes
- $1,500/term for full-time students
