London and District Construction Association Women in Construction Award

One award is presented annually. Recipient must, at the time of selection:

  • be a full-time student at Fanshawe College and is enrolled in level 3 in the in the following programs:
    o Architectural Technology (Co-op);
    o Civil Engineering Technology (Co-op);
    o Building Renovation Technology (Co-op);
    o Carpentry and Renovation Technician (Co-op);
    o Construction Engineering Technician (Co-op);
    o Construction Engineering – Technology – Management (Co-op);
    o Electrical Engineering Technician;
    o Electrical Engineering Technology (Co-op);
    o Renewable Energies Technician (Co-op);
    o Electromechanical Engineering Technician (Co-op);
    o HVAC Technician (Co-op);
    o Welding & Fabrication Technician (Co-op);
    o GIS and Urban Planning (Co-op); OR
    o Landscape Design (Co-op)
  • have achieved a cumulative Grade Point Average of at least 3.5
  • demonstrate a keen interest in the program through active participation in class
  • self-identify as a woman and/or gender diverse person (in alignment with the Fanshawe College EDI and anti-oppression framework)
  • Answers the question: Please describe why you are interested in a career in the skilled trades, and what positive impact you hope to make in the industry (500 word maximum).

You must complete the diversity questionnaire on the General Application and answer the supplemental question(s) below to be considered. Recipients will be notified by email if selected to receive this award.
