The Estate of Dr. Jean Fraser Campbell

A bequest from the estate of Dr. Jean Fraser Campbell created a fund for scholarships in the School of Health Sciences and the School of Nursing. Jean graduated with her medical degree in 1933 from The University of Western Ontario, served as a Faculty Member in Obstetrics & Gynaecology there for many years, and was London’s first woman obstetrician/gynecologist. She retired in 1979 after 42 years practicing in London, and was honoured with a life membership in the Ontario Medical Association in 1988. She sadly passed away on December 25, 1993. With her gift she wanted to ensure that students are recognized and rewarded for their dedication, devotion and excellence in health sciences and nursing programs..
