In Memory of Kim Rowe

In Memory of Kim Rowe

This award is dedicated to the memory of Kim Rowe, Fanshawe College’s first International Student Life Coordinator.

For 10 years, Kim’s smile inspired all those who met her to do more, and to do it with passion, confidence and grace. She was a role model for living life to the fullest in every capacity. Students, staff, community members and parents simply could not be anything but happy and hopeful in her presence.

Kim held a special place for the international students who gravitated to her as their personal cheerleader, confidante, friend, advocate and teacher. Families from 60 countries trusted Kim with their most precious possession—their children—and she treated every student with kindness, celebrating them as a special gift in her life. Their dreams were her dreams.

Kim was the face of the College for recruitment activities in St. Lucia, Trinidad, Barbados and St. Maarten. She introduced Fanshawe as a desirable option for prospective students and their families, who became her dear friends. Kim was part of weddings, baptisms, potlucks, anniversaries and, of course, graduations!

Impact

In memory of Kim, her colleagues from the International Office have introduced the Kim Rowe Memorial Award to encourage, support and celebrate the international students she embraced, and to continue her message to “always be kind.”
