Kent & Essex Mutual Insurance
Kent & Essex Mutual Insurance Provider is based in Chatham, Ontario, delivering insurance protection to Ontarians since 1888. They are a local Canadian insurance company wholly owned by their policyholders — that’s where the “Mutual” part comes in. They do not have shareholders, and when the company is profitable, those profits are distributed to their members via a refund of surplus. They are a proud member of the Ontario Mutual Insurance Association and pride themselves as a foundational pillar of the communities they serve.
Impact
The Kent & Essex Mutual Insurance Company Bursary is annually presented to two full-time domestic students at Fanshawe College (excluding Toronto campus) in any level of the Business – Insurance program or Business – Insurance (Co-op) program, who maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA, meet Canadian citizenship criteria and demonstrate financial need.
