In Memory of Teresa Richman

Born on January 14, 1960 in Dunnville Ontario, Teresa grew up with four brothers in a large, tightknit family. This awarded her many opportunities to develop close relationships and a tough, cando attitude. In school, she was involved in many clubs and sports, such as track and field, volleyball and bowling.

Teresa was a person who valued friends and family, and would do everything she could to help someone in need. She was also a dedicated wife, mother of three and grandmother of six. The love she had for her children and grandchildren was absolutely boundless. Teresa had a wicked sense of humour and a laugh that was contagious.

For 29 years, Teresa was a dedicated employee at Fanshawe College. She held many positions during her time at the College, beginning as a Secretary, then as a Support Services Officer in Continuing Education. Following this, Teresa became the Assistant to the Chair in Design, then Student Success Advisor for the Faculty of Arts, Media and Design. The expertise she gained in her previous positions made her the best candidate for Program Manager of the Faculty of Arts, Media and Design.

Teresa was known throughout the College for her sense of humour and as someone who was caring, fair and incredibly organized. She respected people’s individuality and led with patience, compassion, excellence and professionalism. Always ready to take on new challenges, Teresa embodied the spirit and history of the College as the originator and adopter of countless initiatives that helped shape the organization.

Over the years, Teresa developed a deep knowledge about Fanshawe processes and policies and became a revered counsellor to all levels of employees and leadership at the College. She and her expertise were welcomed on many committees and special projects and she was instrumental in many achievements for the Faculty of Arts, Media and Design, such as planning and opening of the School of Digital and Performing Arts.
