In Memory of Lois and Bob Hasen

Lois and Bob recognized the importance of education and valued the fundamental and community learning which takes place at Fanshawe.

Lois Aileen Hasen believed whole-heartedly in life-long learning and graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree at the age of 63. With an eternal positive attitude, she actively gave back by doing charity work within the community. She later developed Alzheimer’s disease and required daily care. She passed away at age 78 in 2005.

Robert “Bob” D. Hasen, an executive with 3M Canada, was dedicated to a strong work ethic and valued honesty and a “can do” attitude. He was generous, charitable and kind to others. He was caregiver to Lois during her illness and later required assistance during his last few years. He lived a long, rewarding life and passed away in his 94th year in 2019.

At different times in their lives, both Lois and Bob greatly benefited from personal support workers. These critical times in their lives were made easier by the excellent care they received. They especially appreciated the dedication of the health care profession and particularly the compassion required of personal support workers.
