In Memory of Kate Gielen
The Kate Gielen Academic Graduating Award was established by Peter Cuddy in memory of his late wife Kate (Kathleen) who passed away in 2015. Kate graduated from Fanshawe’s Interior Design program in 1979, and went on to found her business, Gielen Design, which was a source of inspired design for over 30 years. Kate brought passion, creativity and love to all that she did. She was a visionary who made huge contributions to the London community. Kate especially cherished her downtown neighborhood. Her spirit will live on in the homes and hearts of our city.
Impact
The Kate Gielen Academic Graduating Award is awarded to a graduating Bachelor of Interior Design student with a minimum 3.5 grade point average who demonstrates leadership skills and a passion for Interior Design.
