In Memory of Gavin Cay
This award was created to honour Gavin Cay, a registered medical radiological technologist, who passed away in October 2014.
Gavin graduated from Western University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and from the Medical Radiation Technology program at Fanshawe College in 2003.
Gavin always showed a quiet determination, pride of workmanship and dedication to the job. He was a loyal, kind, gentle and compassionate soul. He was one of the founding members of the X-Rayted team in the London Hospitals Co-ed Slo-pitch league. Known for his “grenades”, Gavin loved to be pitching when not working.
Gavin will be remembered for his courage and strength.
Impact
This award is presented annually to a full-time mature student who has completed the Medical Radiation Technology program with a minimum GPA of 3.0. The recipient has shown leadership among peers in the classroom and in their clinical placement. Along with a positive and compassionate attitude, the recipient demonstrates commitment and a genuine determination.
