In Memory of April Paton

In Memory of April Paton

In May 2024 my fearless sister April lost her battle with cancer. As she said, cancer will kill me but it won’t take my life. We are determined to celebrate that life.

April was a wonderful sister, daughter, mother and wife. And, importantly here, devoted her entire adult life to a career as a Developmental Service Worker.

For decades April and her colleagues went into the toughest and saddest of situations to help people who could not help themselves. And those people’s lives were immeasurably improved by her actions.

We want to help continue that work.

April got her start by earning her DSW diploma from Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. She loved that program and she loved her job.

Impact

To that end, we are establishing the April Paton Bursary which will pay the entire tuition fees for the two-year program for two deserving young women who need financial help to achieve their dream and diploma.

We are personally ensuring that two deserving candidates a year for 5 years will be chosen to receive all of the funds necessary to pay their tuition for the two-year program.

We hope April’s dedication will inspire others to donate but for now we know at least 10 young women will benefit from the example that is April Paton.

Because what the world needs now is more Aprils.
