Forest City Castings Inc.

Forest City Castings Inc. is a privately owned company in St. Thomas that supplies global manufacturers. Their facility is over 110 000 sq ft with 80+ full-time employees. Owners Scott McRae and Devin McRae have over 50 years of experience with graphite permanent mold technology, sand casting and the manufacturing of zinc and aluminum castings. Their wide range of casting products are shipped worldwide and supplied to all types of industries including electrical, mechanical hardware, medical, transportation, military, high-tech communications, robotics, nautical and an endless array of other applications.

Impact

The Forest City Castings Award was established to encourage and support students in Fanshawe’s Mechanical (Engineering) Technician (CNC/CAM) at the St. Thomas/Elgin Campus who demonstrate exceptional skills in the areas of computer numerical control, quality assurance and machine set-up programming.
